Annie in front of Steven Spielberg's boat

Dinghy races back to the boats.

One of the good things about having to pay $10 to dock our dinghies at the Southport Raw Bar is we can apply it toward the restaurant bill. Tonight it was chilli cheese dogs with Bill & Dee and Annie. We had stops at Pollo Tropical, Sailorman, West Marine, Bb&t, Ace, Publix, Dollar Tree and Winn Dixie. We're trying to get our chores done this week hoping for a good weather window to the Bahamas next week.

Marina projects

We have been staying at Las Olas marina for the past couple of days getting some projects done -- taxes, laundry and today some varnishing.  Good job Tom.

Engineering the sbeet

Tom did the laundry while filed our taxes. Then he offered to make up the bed which involves a fair amount of wrestling the V-berth mattress. But he's now figured out how to tie the end of the sheet to the boat so it won't ride up during the night. Oh well ...

Southport Raw Bar

This restaurant has a dinghy dock and is near the shops on 17th street and Cordova. We did our boat chores today and headed to shore for a trip to Ace and Publix.

Jet fuel

They had this boat revved up to check out the engine.

Ft. Lauderdale wealth

Too ostentatious ...

Sewer rats?

We went to the bank today and found it was close to the water. Unfortunately there was no dingy dock near so we had to make our own.

Pirate ship...argh

He's got the right idea. Just shorten the mast.

17th street bridge

The only bascule bridge we didn't have to have open for us today.

Port Everglades

We made it back to Ft. Lauderdale and are anchored in Lake Sylvia. Looking forward to our reunion with family and friends on Wednesday.

Hello Miami, again

We left Dinner Key for our two day run back to Ft. Lauderdale and are anchored near Oleta State Park.

Simple Pleasures

We went to Fresh Market -- the only grocery store close to us and treated ourselves to a couple of great pastries and milk. Yum!

Dinner Key

we had lunch at our favorite place-- Pollo Tropical--and Tom took one of his famous "shortcuts" back to the marina. we're at the Sandbar restaurant for trivia night and we found out why it's called the sandbar--note floor.

Heading back

Gilbert's Resort Motel & Marina is right under US1 and the beginning of the Keys. We left our friends who are heading on to Marathon. We needed to get back to Ft. Lauderdale to meet Paul & Pam next week.

Full Moon over Key Largo

We left Islamarado and our friends at 7:30 this morning with a bumpy ride to Key Largo. We have a sheltered cove in Tarpon Basin and it's nice to be out of the wind for a change. Pulling anchor tomorrow. NIGHT ALL....

Hi Annie

Tom picked up Annie in the dinghy so we'd have someone else to talk to.

Still weathered out

Winds have been 20mph with gusts of 30mph since Sunday. We're getting cabin fever.
