Compass Rose is our 1989 Hutchins Com-pac 27 we bought in Tarpon Springs, FL in 2010. Last year we took her to the Florida Keys and then the Abacos. This year we will head to the Keys and hope to stay longer there.

Titusville, FL
We left Daytona for New Smyrna Beach and anchored at Sheephead Cut across from the city marina. The anchorage was crowded and the marina full and we’re beginning to think everyone is going to south Florida this time of the year. There was an arts festival in the downtown area that gave us some exercise and we left the following morning.
Titusville is one of our favorite spots to stop because we can usually see manatees here. It’s still a little cold for them so we only glimpsed the backs of a couple. We met several nice couples and one gave us a ride to Walmart and Publix to restock supplies. [Thank you Carla] We had a pizza & sangria party last night at the screened in porch at the marina. Take the party with you is becoming a way of life.
The smoke in the picture above was from a ‘controlled burn’ south of here – very ominous looking. We’re leaving this morning for Cocoa just a few miles south.
